Petit Larousse de la Sexualité App Reviews

Good content, weak program

The content is invaluable, especially for a non-native speaker. However, the program is fragile in the extreme – just a tap which misses a popups close widget will send the app to its grave. The app has crashed dozens of times in its first hour of use. The section on positions is useless – one has little or no control of which "position" will be described next. The descriptions are minimalist, and convey less information than a simple stick-figure would. (The background image never changes as the popup description of a position does.) Just silly, reallly.

Many problems

Before I can even get to the content, the layout is meant to be viewed in landscape mode, but it will only display vertically. Consequently, there is information lost at the right side of the screen. Another minor annoyance is the sudden jarring sound effect when you open a function. Then, as the other reviewer mentioned, the position function just has banners with short two sentence descriptions which fly away if you touch anywhere on the screen. (And the words at the right are off screen because of the fixed upright orientation.) And you cant go back to retrieve it. Its just a rotating set of banners which will eventually repeat itself. The background picture that could help to illustrate the position is just a generic silhouette which never changes. Its one saving grace is its list of vocabulary words in the dictionary section with definitions.
